This month's book of the Month is Stacey Abrams's Lead form the Outside. Stacey Abrams is an entrepreneur, a non-profit  CEO and a political leader. Abrams uses her experience as an outsider as a blueprint to help others understand the processes of leadership. Leading takes insight and courage and leadership can be hard. It involves not only convincing others, but also convincing ourselves. Abrams challenges us to be our own advocates and to look at how we can use our identities and the experiences that have come with our identities to move us forward. She acknowledges that with great risk and ambition also comes fear, but rather than allowing that fear to cripple us that we should acknowledge our fears. But once we have acknowledged them, to ask ourselves whether what we want is strong enough to push through that fear. This book isn't only inspirational, but also uplifting and instructional. It's a great read for anyone, not only those that fall into minority groups, but anyone who really wants to build their futures and make real  changes in their environment.
